Fire Starter Candles

Fire Starter Candles are a great way to get your campfire started. With the stuff you can find in your home. Most Fire Starters  use wax and some sort of substrate. Woodchips, sawdust, shredded paper, or cotton balls.

You can use a Dixie cup, egg create or cupcake liner to make your fire starter in.

Materials:

6 paper cupcake liners
leftover wax or crayons
Pouring Pitcher or old coffee can for melting wax
Hot plate or double boiler for heating the wax
Thermometer
6 piece cupcake tin
Substrate - I use paper from the paper shredder!

Depending on the wax you use melt it in a double boiler. Let cool to a temperature of 130 degrees. Fill your container 1/4 to 1/2 full with your substrate. Fill the rest except the last 1/4 inch with wax. Let set for  a couple of hours and your ready to start your campfire.

Other ideals:

You can dip Pinecones in wax using a string or candle wick. Set pinecones on paper after dipping to let dry.
